Hello, I’m Lauren and I’m delighted that you’ve found me here.

I am a copywriter, author and blogger whose main passions are travel, Shakespeare and folklore. I love combining these by visiting unusual destinations and writing about the legends that inhabit them. I've had great fun exploring these topics on my travel/folklore podcast Travelling Ghouls. These passions are also the inspiration for my contributions to The Collector. 

With a background in teaching (English Literature), I am adept at creating educational resources including presentations, lesson plans and revision guidance. I have also applied my relevant research skills to creating audio walking tours around some great UK cities for the international tour brand Around.

After adopting a dog, my travel writing skewed towards dog-friendly adventure travel tips including practical help (such as canine first aid and insurance advice) as well as inspirational ideas (I have written extensively about 6 months living and working at a dog-friendly hotel in the Isle of Skye). As well as creating articles for my own website www.twohumansandadog.com I have also written for Workaway, Dog Avenue and others.

Underpinning all my written work is a love of teaching and communicating, therefore I can apply my ability to communicate challenging content into engaging prose for different audiences. I currently work as a creative writing tutor for a London charity and love developing innovative ways to engage the young writers  who attend. 

Alongside my non-fiction writing, I am currently editing my first novel which is inspired by the Irish folklore of changelings.
